• Exclusive Member Reception at Newly-Opened Haw Contemporary Gallery
  Members enjoyed an exclusive viewing of Kansas City’s newest commercial art gallery, Haw Contemporary, located in the West Bottoms. In addition to drinks and hors d’oeuvres, the evening featured a gallery talk led by Director Bill Haw, Jr., an exhibition tour with Curators Emily Eddins and Peregrine Honig, and discussions led by artists featured in the show.

• Visit to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR
  Newly opened in late 2011, the museum’s exceptional permanent collection comprises American masterworks from the Colonial period to the Contemporary, including several pieces by artists in the American Masters Collection I.  After a chartered bus ride to Bentonville, members checked in at the 21C Museum Hotel, which features a rotating program of contemporary art and commissioned installations. In addition to a private tour of collection highlights at Crystal Bridges and a member dinner at the renowned Hive restaurant, several members also enjoyed a late night viewing of Leo Villareal’s Buckyball.

• Member Trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico
  Known for its rich history, beautiful climate, and distinctive cuisine, Santa Fe also boasts one of the largest art markets in the United States (second only to New York). The weekend included an exclusive artist talk and cocktail reception at Yares Art Projects; a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum; a visit of Paul Pletka’s home and painting studio; and a day trip to the historic artisan village of Chimayo.
